My nutritional journey

Nutrition has always been a crucial part of my life, enhancing my physical and mental performance. From a young age, I aspired to excel in elite sport. My true passion for sport was ignited when I took up athletics at the age of 14. I quickly rose through the junior ranks and achieved my first Senior GB vest in athletics at 21.

While pursuing my athletics, I also managed to earn a joint honours degree in Human Health, Nutrition & Exercise and Sports Science from St Mary’s University. Continuous learning in Health and Nutrition is important to me, and I regularly engage in CPD courses.

Despite a healthy lifestyle, I faced musculoskeletal injuries from endurance training. In 2010, a severe post-op infection left my ankle nearly unusable and prolonged antibiotics devastated my gut flora. After numerous unsuccessful treatments and surgeries, I shifted my focus to a holistic diet. Viewing food as medicine, I used nutritious foods and supplements to heal my gut and reduce inflammation, eventually returning to competitive athletics.

Inspired by my journey, I am passionate about helping others achieve their physical potential and overcome health issues through nutrition. I believe in the power of a healthy diet for sports performance, general health and healing. A healthy diet can be enjoyable, simple and affordable.

Through my nutritional work, I aim to offer individualised support and advice, positively impacting my clients' health with tailored, encouraging guidance.

Appearances

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate enough to have been invited to several events across the country where I have given motivational speeches, talked about life in sport and delivered sessions on post-injury recovery. I have also been involved with school sports days and medical conferences.

I love being involved in big events, whether it be a school awards ceremony where I can play a small part in inspiring the next generation or a major medical conference where I can offer my insight and personal experience.
